Advent Calendars

Have you noticed all of the cool advent Calendars based on children's books that are out right now?  Here are a couple that I think are cool.24 Penguins Before Christmas by Jean-Luc Fromental

Eric Carle's Dream Snow
Olive The Other Reindeer by J. Otto Seibold
I'm tempted to buy them all!

I also think that it would be really fun to to fill a normal advent calendar with christmas book titles to read each day.

I bought the 24 Penguins one at the MoMA last month and it is SO cute. I'm already a sucker for kids books and advent calendars so put the two together and I'm a goner.

These are cute. I love Olive! I like your Christmas story idea too.

Hey! Great idea! I was going to wrap all my christmas books and let the kids unwrap one each night--but I think the advent calendar addition would be even more fun!

Those look SO cute!

Those books look like fun. It would probably help my daughter understand how many days left and I love the idea of doing it with a book instead of a candy filled calendar (although candy is yummy!)

She can hardly wait and we saw Santa at our church party this week and the next morning she woke up crying because she thought her presents were supposed to be here. Somehow in her head she had equated seeing Santa to mean that Christmas was the next day.

A girl I taught school with gave me the idea to wrap 24 of our favorite Christmas pictures books. We wrap "Twas The Night Before Christmas" in special wrap so we know to open that one last. It's a tradition our children LOVE!!
